dear friends
i wd like to all students to post comments on all topics. i see only 10 comments. why is it so? This week topics have been assigned for presentation. hope you have started working on your topic. i expect students scheduled on monday and tuesday to be ready with ur material by friday. if possible as we are working even on saturday u can come and check whether audio visual material is working in the lab.
This week discussion topic:
What is essential for an effective presentation? Pls give ur comments as this will be useful for ur friends when they are presenting.
Personally i feel brief content can be made interesting if it is presented well. Delivery makes the difference. you can give ur personal comments on what aspect is more important for effective presentation.

Hello Everyone,
I cant be of much help for my friends about this presentation cause this is going to be my first presentation and tat too in english.
Personally i find it tough to express(speak) in english, cause usually i don't SPEAK, i just translate(i think some of us too). im aware tat we must have fluency in english and to get that we must start thinking in english and im trying as much as i can...
and talking about effective presentation, keeping things as simple as possible will definitely convey our idea to all, irrespective of (any) language. This is what i think and I'll try to do the same in my presentation too...
Feeling thrilled and scared. Keeping my fingers crossed, best wishes to all... [:)]
Hello everyone,
This is not my first presentation but still, the topic for my presentation is “parapsychology” it is so new to me....
Very interesting but quite exhausting also...
I had come across too many information Iam not sure which one to say and which one to leave...
Iam feeling quite cold and nervous
But, it is a thrill that is good to be experienced
According to me in any presentation it is the way the presenter delivers the message that makes it so interesting or boring...so don’t worry about your topic try to make it as interesting as possible…
To be nervous is not so bad
But avoid exhibiting that nervousness to the audience….
Gathering the attention of the audience is one of the very difficult tasks that I had come across in most of my presentations so try to keep them engaged
Be confident or at least try to
Pretend to be confident most of the times the latter one helps a lot
These are some tips that Iam recalling for my presentation hope that would help my friends also…
Hope I could give you a good presentation at least not a boring one
All the best to everyone
Cheers,
Saranya
HI FRIENDS,
First of all i need to congragulate all my friends to do their presentations in a well manner. This is first presentation i need to do my best.
my opinion is to deliver the given content
in a short and effective manner.
hope u friends dont be tensed and nervous,
nothing to be losed present ur part well.
Hi all,
Thanks for your great support, laughs, comments, kidding and claps for my presentation. This made me to give more effective presentation next time.I am much now relaxed after finishing language lab presentation and getting ready for the next presentation.
I am much now relaxed after finishing language lab presentation and getting ready for the next presentation On my view An effective presentation should for the audiance. The audiance would be expecting "What is for me for this presentation?" So we have to do on the basis of the audiance. A presentation should be based on their Age, Sex, Education, Lifestyle, Social Background, Status etc. So i think when the presentation's element is based on the audiance side it will be successfull.
And karthik krishna we cannot be simple at all the occassions. You may see only the content. But there are many people expect beauty and glamour in presentation. So for such people we have to add more ingredients in presentation.
I wish You a happy and Colorfull Deepawali.
See you all on next comment.
@ swami,
i dint generalise "simple"...simple in the sense, we must not complicate the sunbject we present, it'l confuse the audience, that is what i meant...
I kindly request Karthik Krishna to comment on the second group presentation...
hi frns,
I don know whether my tips will b that useful to you'll but since the topic is so...
personally i feel..that if you know your audience half of your work is done, getting to know your audience and having a connect with them is a very important aspect!!
choose to speak more with what ever information you have... I mean make the best out of it... try to give more examples, it will let you interact with the audience.
too much of info will confuse you as well as the audience... note down the key points in a paper in case you miss out on anything it might help you..:)
the rest has already been told by my classmates... so i ll finish with this:)
all the best!! happy presentation:)
Comments Update
about the 2nd batch of language lab presentation ...
mam as you are commenting first, which matches our opinions too, the comments may sound repetitive..
sorry
Alice - had good content, spoke well and the flow was excellent. no hiccups at all...
but sounded like she was delivering what she has memorised... focus was only on one religion...overall it was neat...
Prem - showed good confidence and good flow of what he had prepared... but his gestures and body language it was more like mocking than dramatic.. there was no seriousness in the presentation as well as in the Q&A session...deviated..it could've been better if he had prepared more seriously...
Sukanya - Good ppt with great color and picture combination.. but content wise, nothing much, read from the notes she had, must practice talking....
Thiru - I think it was a last minute preparation... must improve in language (if he is interested), due to that, the presentation was not effective...only thing is he was smiling all the time which others who presented today didnt do.
Ezhumalai - looked professional. the content was good but in ppt it was too much of text.. even while reading from the slides, he made so many mistakes, lack of preparation was evident... looked like he had so many things to share but was unable to do so...
Hello..!
Luckily u ppl have a lot of time to prepare unlike us, the 1st batch who had VERY little time to prepare. So get set…Yes, I do agree with karthik Krishna. U need to keep it simple… N make sure u don’t speak on anything which u r not sure of. U might have got some info on ur topic but if u don’t understand it fully or u urself have doubts in it then its better not to speak on such things. Cover things which u r confident abt. I’m telling this coz even my topic (i.e, Supernatural elements), it was a vast subject n there were things which I wasn’t sure of. And in my presentation I only spoke on things I was very confident abt and am telling u this in the hope tat it’ll be of use to u too. The rest ppl have already mentioned.Other than tat have an idea on how u r goin to present the whole thing and organize it well… n don’t get tensed…after all v r all classmates! :-)
Hi friends,
yesterday i have presented abt floods...hope it was good..still i was nervous at that time bcoz tat was my 1st presentation.....but now am relaxed..
Some Tips
First of all,you have to be clear with ur topic..
Try to give more examples when ur presenting
Coming to ppt,add some pictures, bcoz pictures can speak more than thousand words, and it will help u to make the presentation effective.
Thanks 4 all ur supports and comments for my presentation.[:)]
